His father’s job moved him, his mother and his older brother to Connecticut, where he grew up before moving back to Toronto. As a child he was exposed to all genres of music. His mother introduced him to Rock and Roll artists like ABBA, The Bee Gees and Elton John. His older brother put him on to Hip-Hop and introduced him to some of the pioneers like KRS-One, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy and Onyx. His sound is heavily influenced by legendary hip-hop acts OutKast, the Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs n Harmony, and Snoop Dogg.It wasn’t until moving back to Toronto in his early teens, with his newly formed love and passion for Hip-Hop culture, that Keele began his journey as a recording artist. LeftField Keele’s attitude and outlook on life was forever changed after an invite from a friend to a studio session. It was there that Keele discovered his own talent and extreme admiration for the skills of an MC. His passion motivated him to start honing and mastering his craft. His lyrical style is inspired by life as he observes it. From 2008-2010 he began creating music and working on the creation of his debut album titled SANDLOT. Keele has fashioned his own unique brand that sets him apart from the rest of the world. The product – LEFTFIELD KEELE.

LEFTFIELD is a place where individuals can go in their minds and separate themselves from others, defined by what their view on life is. Keele’s music is a place that allows everyone who feels misunderstood and unsupported to co-exist. This world is direct from LeftField Keele’s mind; his personal thoughts, feelings and life experiences are manifested into a world in which the unrealistic dreamer prevails and succeeds. LeftField Keele grew up feeling very alone. Throughout life, almost everyone he has trusted has hurt him in one way or another. Growing up he watched his parents fighting all the time, as his alcoholic father constantly verbally abused his mother. After moving back to Toronto his older brother traveled back and forth to the United States, leaving Keele feeling some kind of void. For a long time Keele felt lost. He sees current life a hardship. He has suffered numerous head injuries, losing both his sense of smell and taste. This was as a result of 2 fractures that lead to bleeding in his brain, and a blood clot in his right ear. He had the difficult task of learning how to walk again.

He describes himself as a loner with a dream. Knowing the dream is achievable, he draws on his own life – everything and everyone in it – for inspiration.

As a result of life changing experiences, LeftField Keele looks at the world from a different angle and perspective. Doing things differently and going against the grain has become his reality. What motivates him is life itself. It’s bigger than the four walls of one’s work. It’s bigger than the town or city in which you reside. The only one in anyone’s way is themselves; we all have the ability to do anything we want in life. He believes the secret to success is pushing when we don’t think we can push any more. Everyone serves a purpose and Keele is determined to continue pursuing his quest to find his.
