Hailing from the grim north of England, Lavotchkin formed in early 2005, and began recording demo material in the summer of the same year.
Their first demos then led to a deal with STA Records, which released Lavotchkin's first "official" EP, The Oldest Suicide Cult. The band promoted its release with an extensive tour of its native land, and in 2007 released a split EP with York sludge merchants Joseph on MidMarch Records. A follow-up split, this time with Attack Vipers and to be released on Knives and Guns, was planned for release soon after. ~ Chris True
