Scott Niemet, Tim Ramage, Matt Bailey, Adam Bennati, and Chris Bailey first got the idea for an industrial hardcore band with live drums while growing up in Columbus, OH.
Appreciating the rage of hardcore, the intensity of industrial bands like Ministry, and the techno of bands like Atari Teenage Riot, the Lack decided to throw it all together on-stage. It took a while for the sound to come together, although the switching of instruments mid-song during performances was intentional. The Lack's preference for huge amps cranked all the way got them banned from local clubs. After appearing on two compilations in September 2001, a full-length album nearly three years in the making followed shortly after on Troubleman. ~ Ron DePasquale
