A leading light in the Danish "hard-boiled" rap scene, the L.O.C. (aka Liam O'Connor, an artist of Danish and Irish descent) first came to the fore as part of the group Alzheimer-Klinikken in 1997.
He developed his approach over the years and -- influenced by the California/West Coast rap of the early '90s -- created a sound that won the respect of Denmark's hip-hop scene. His 2008 album, Melankolia, a study (of sorts) of the seven deadly sins, was a number one hit in Denmark. ~ Chris True
