His music transcends cultural boundaries and generations,blending spiritual vibes and hardcore truths that display a depth and a consciousness way beyond his years. KY-ENIE is a musical warrior whose hard-edged vocal styling, lyrical versatility, and explosive stage personality leaves audiences wanting more. “My inspiration,” he reflects,“comes from everyday life and mostly from the Most High…He is the one who pens all my work.With a musical career spanning 12 years,KY-ENIE has consistently delivered sizzling live performances to audiences in the Caribbean,America, Canada, and Europe. “I’ve always loved to perform, whether it was singing or dancing. The audience energizes me and I have to deliver,doesn’t matter if it’s to one person or a million, I never fall short on a performance.
Born in Jamaica, KY-ENIE credits his musical passion to inspirations from all different generations and disciplines including the essential music of the late legendary Bob Marley, Tracy Chapman, John Mayer, The Script, Ben Harper, and also Ben Howard, Paolo Nutini,Alanis Morissette, and Ani Difranco.
KY-ENIE’s dedication to excellence has led him to work with many great producers including Robert Livingston of Big Yard Music and Ed Robinson of E2 Studios. These collaborations generated a successful debut album, Then,Now, After, which created the global hits like “Wings of an Angel”, “Old Time Tradition”, and “Rain”. His single “Lambs Bread” blazed to the #1 position on the Germany Reggae Charts and REtv International Reggae
Charts in Jamaica. His song “Don’t Wanna Be Alone”, heard on the Big
Yard/VP Records My Baby Riddim, spent 8 weeks on the Top Ten Reggae Charts in St. Croix. “Rain” was featured in the hit movie Shottas. Over the years, KY-ENIE has shared the stage with Sean Paul, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton,Richie Spice, Half Pint, Shaggy, the Marley brothers, Marcia Griffiths, Morgan Heritage,Shabba Ranks, Chuck Fenda, Beres Hammond, Anthony B and Tanya Stephens.He has entertained the crowds at Link Up
Westchester Reggae Fest (NY), Reggae in the Valley (CA), 5th Element Record’s Culture in the City Bob Marley Smile Concert (Jamaica) Irie FM Anniversary Show (Jamaica), Irie Jamboree (NY), Best of the Best (FL) and is a regular at Riddim Runway (FL).
His high-energy performances have also entertained audiences in Europe at shows in Amsterdam; Reggaeville Week-Ender, Ruhr Reggae Summer; Summerjam Roots center 2011 & 2012,Club Zauberberg Wurzburg Germany. KY-ENIE has also graced the stage with German superstar Gentleman and has also worked along side Uwe Banton, Cornadoor, Jahcoustix, Gangaman, Rough House, Yah Meek and Anthony Locks.
KY-ENIE’s work ethic keeps him very busy and focused on his goals as he
steadily records new hits. Currently in the studio with a team of new
producers he is working on three projects at the moment, his sophomore
acoustic album, the Journey album and a cover album featuring the
songs of a few of his favorite artists. KY-ENIE intends to keep the fire
blazing with music fit for the soul as he is gearing up for the release of
new 9 tracks EP/CD entitled “GHETTO DREAM” and a full english version of “Glory Days” which also carries a German/English version with friend Mic Royal from Germany and Iza of Poland/NY that has been released on the MPerium Records label.
