Jes Kahili began his musical career at a young age.
Moving from Hawaii to Canada, he diversified his talent with instruments including the piano and guitar. At the age of 16 in grade 12, a co-op project in high school led Kahili to gain approval from his guidance counsellors not only to start his own record company, but to write, record and produce an album. The album attracted the attention of several producers, one of which was Duane Barron, who Kahili took a liking to. After recording the initial tracks in Los Angeles with Duane, Kahili began preforming at various venues, sharing the stage with such acts as Brooks and Dunn, and Gretchin Wilson. As interest began to develop during the summer of 2006, Kahili went back to the studio in Toronto, Canada to add guitar overdubbs to the existing tracks. The final mix titled “Nectar Shedding Clouds” was completed in the fall of 2007. Since his first recording, Kahili has created numerous compositions, and is excited to go back into the studio with his band Koolava to record and create the next project.

With a worldwide fan base that love the “keeping it real” vibe, Kahili and Koolava cross mulitple genres by bringing forth a unique sound. The essence of Koolava comes from the heart, and will always explore and share all of the positive aspects that life, nature, and the environment have to offer. The music brings back a wholesome, pureness that fans have long awaited to return to the music scene.
