Specializing in an exuberant blend of retro dance-rock and evocative, road trip-ready indie pop, Little Rock, Arkansas' Knox Hamilton (the name was taken at random out of an old yearbook found at a thrift store) formed in 2010 around the talents of longtime friends Boots Copeland (bass, vocals), Cobo Copeland (drums), Bradley Pierce (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards), and Drew Buffington (lead guitar).
Citing influences like Phoenix, Foster the People, Coldplay, the Killers, and Keane, the quartet issued its music independently before inking a deal with Prospect Park in 2014 and releasing the single "Work It Out." This single also featured on the band's 2015 debut EP, How's Your Mind, released on the major label Universal. In 2016, Knox Hamilton issued "Washed Up Together" prior to the release of their full-length debut album, The Heights. ~ James Christopher Monger
