K-MIL - Artist/Producer/Audio Engineer
Harlem born M.C., inspired by lunchroom ciphers between gym an advance classes, K-MIL quickly dove full force into learning his craft and formulating his sound.

He approached his entry into the game as a rite of passage, learning by beating on lunchroom tables, rapping with friends and building his studio from scratch in order to record and produce songs for himself as well as for other local artists. Time spent researching for affordable effective equipment and learning the science of recording and audio engineering from online forums and what K-MIL likes to refer to as “The University of Barnes and Nobles” only strengthen the passion and resolve to succeed at developing his own sound. Once thought of as a "backpack" rapper, who is naturally gifted in wordplay and imagery, K-MIL recalls memories of recording his first freestyles on a karaoke machine at fellow Queens MC Dex Dirty's crib. Production sessions with Darkside would follow, who would serve as an early production mentor. These were the days when listening sessions consisted of fast food and recently created tracks pumping out of the bass heavy speakers of a Jetta.

K-MIL has developed an understanding of the breakdown and composition of a song as well as the necessity for great hooks, bridges and addictive adlibs that grab the listener’s attention, infectiously compelling the listener to rap along. Production wise, he has embraced the power of the drum pattern and how it dictates the direction of the song before its even created. "In my eyes, melodies are like the icing on top which influence mood and the levels of excitement." Intelligence has also been the corner stone of his progression in music, from learning and observing techniques to the material used in his punchlines. K-MIL has always been a geek at heart, inspired by the his favorite intellectual properties of pastime, from Anime to Sci-fi movies, video games to comic books. However, he has used this trait to remove the complexities of creation. As he would tell you, "I'm just a smart dude from da block" as he coins his genre of music "Geek Rachet." In both writing and producing, he has come to appreciate and understand the intricacies of simplicity.
