North Carolina native King Royalty is Charlotte’s newest and brightest Hip-hop / Rap MC and songwriter.
Early on King was inspired musically by artists such as 2pac, Eminem, Bizzy Bone and the late great Michael Jackson just to name a few. While in high school King Royalty started to lay the ground work on his signature sound. Writing intricate poems and short stories, while in class and during off periods, King started to envision his place amongst the hit makers of the time. He would take these lyrical antidotes and merge them with his daily experiences to hip-hops’ common battlefield the freestyle cipher. There King Royalty not only developed his passion for his craft, but he knew it was his chosen calling.
King Royalty is currently working on his debut solo album. He feels this is a project that will not only show his growth but the depth of his talents as not only an MC but as a songwriter alike. King Royalty’s current hit single “I Want U” is receiving airplay on various media outlets around the Carolinas thanks to DJ Chuck T, DJ Catxx, DJ Scroog Mkduk, DJ Prince Sci, DJ Moon and DJ Stretch-O-Matic. King Royalty has also been the opening act for major artist such as Montel Jordan, Young Dro & Pastor Troy, which demonstrates his versatility. After the release of his new mixtape entitled “Club King,” King Royalty was featured on WGIV-103.3fm & WPEG-Power98 as Future Flava’s Artist of The Month. This additionally lead to a live interview with radio personality Yasmin Young of The No Limit Larry & Morning Madd House on WPEG Power98. King Royalty is a reoccurring presence on the New Wave DVD volume series which has topped 100,000 views online. King Royalty has also shown that he is not your normal Hip-Hop artist with opportunities such as; Top Male Model for The Derby City Fashion Show in Louisville, KY this spring.
King’s community support efforts are also a major part of who he is as an artist. He recently announced he is now a proud sponsor of a Youth Program Called “T.O.U.C.H.E.D” (Tackling Obesity Using Conditioning, Hobbies, Education, and Diet). Expanding even more on his wealth of talent, King has acted locally in commercials, small skits and even a independent Horror film entitled “The Dead Don’t Die” scheduled to be released this fall. King Royalty was a featured Artist for the “Queen City Cypher” on DipperTV (Time Warner Cable).
