ENIGMA VARIATIONSSaturday, March 12, 2022 at 8 pmRichmond Hill Centre for the Performing ArtsThe Kindred Spirits Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Kristian Alexander will present three exceptional romantic masterworks. Prokofiev’s first foray in film scoring was written in 1933 for one of the first Soviet sound features. The Suite from Lieutenant Kijé follows the satirical tale of the plot from birth of the nonexistent officer through his wedding, and ending with his lugubrious death. Chopin’s youthful Piano Concerto No. 2 reflects the dreamy and passionate melancholy of his style presented by the 2020 International Music Festival and Competition Grand Prize winner Naomi Wong. The Variations on an Original Theme, Enigma, is Elgar’s cleverly crafted composition of a theme and fourteen variations, each representing the composer’s close friends and loves. For tickets and information: [KSOrchestra.ca|mysp.ac/2uy14] | 905.604.8339
