Kibwe Dorsey was the middle child of seven, Kibwe’s passion for music was inspired by listening to the phenomenal singing voices of his parents as a child, where his gift took root.
He credits without question his abilities, talents, and grooming to his mother who was operatically trained and his father who was a member of an up and coming singing group in the "Duop Era".
Fearful to sing publicly as a child, Kibwe would eventually overcome his fear as an adult and go on to record his 1st song ever written entitled “Sunshine or Moonlight”. The song was re-made years later collaborating with All For The Love Entertainment’s recording artist Kareem “The Analyst” and was apart of Kibwe’s Debut Album, “My Song For You” Soundtrack.
Kibwe’s Musical Accomplishments and collaborations also include guest singing appearances on “Angel” & “Propose A Toast” for the Sporty Thievz “Street Cinema” Album,by Jay-Z’s Multi-Platinum Producer Ski. He’s been interviewed by Hot 97 FM Hostess Angie Martinez, made video cameo appearances on BET, MTV, appeared as a model in XXL Magazine, was also a Celebrity Runway Model for Karl Kani, and is also recognized for his featured Singing Vocals on the Roc-A-Blok/Ruffhouse/Columbia(Certified Gold Single) "No Pigeons", a rebuttal to TLC’S “No Scrubs”.
No stranger to the entertainment and art worlds. His love for “Acting” began when his mentor, Juilliard Graduate, and accomplished theatre actor Sydney Morgan Jr.(Morgan) asked him to play the role of "Detective Sampson" in Morgan's original stage play "To Lose Is to Gain". This theatrical opportunity would spark a new romance in Kibwe's life, prompting his being bit by "The Acting Bug". Kibwe has been quoted as saying ……… “I love acting! If I could sum it up it, it would be the sister to singing. That’s how close I feel to it”.
In 2009, Kibwe took his acting experience and decided to write a screenplay entitled “My Song For You”. The film is inspired by true events about Kibwe’s life titled. Along with the movie, Kibwe also recorded the motion picture soundtrack. On the soundtrack are additional featuring Hits such as “One Life” and “Let Me Hold You”, which was released in 2012.
