If the audience at a Keith Kenny show were to close theireyes for the performance they would swear that there was a full band onstage.
The audience, however, is toobusy dancing to the one-man acts layered guitar riffs, foot stompingpercussion, blues harp and emotionally charged lyrics to even think aboutlooking away.

The New Jersey native is able to emulate thesound of a full rock band with his percussive fingerstyle approach to theacoustic guitar, an array of effects pedals and a mini-drum kit on stage. Kenny has even customized a vintage redsuitcase to use as a kick drum which has appeared with him on stage for nearlya decade of live performances. His debutappearances at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park paved the way for Kenny’s developing one-man bandshow and have led him into the national touring circuit and beyond. He has been relentlessly working his craft toaudiences up and down the east coast, performed annually at the Winter NAMMConvention in California and recentlyperformed a few select concerts in Ireland. In recent years he has shared the stage withthe likes of Keller Williams, Leon Russell, John Hammond Jr., New Riders of thePurple Sage, The Zen Tricksters and John Kadlecik (Further & Dark StarOrchestra).

On His latest studio release “Andthe Light Came Blaring In…” Kenny captures the essence of his live soloshow, with all the guitars, foot drumming and singing performed simultaneously. While he has used a band for several previous releases, on And The LightCame Blaring In, Kenny relies more on his lone power of compositional gritthan his usual fret board grandeur. Withan influential voice that lies somewhere between Neil Young and Ben Bridwell, Kennydelivers clear and concise visions of dynamic musical deliverance. Combining adeep dive into tone, originality and believability, he ushers the listener intohis brand new living room of roots riddled rock and roll.

Never going for the standardattack, he flies far from the 12-bar blues, three-chord rock and Americana stereotype toland some place between a rock and a new place. The album illustrates a highly skilled writer who utilizes the samedown-home approach in his music as he does with his day-to-day interactionswith others. It’s a combination that will continue to see Kenny reach excitingnew levels as he helps future fans “see the light” of his musical message.
