BIOGRAPHY
Katrine Hash is a trip hop/electronic music collective arisen in 2007, whose core is formed by deejay Massimo Calore (aka Massimo Di Leo) and guitarist Stefano Calore. Several artists take part in this project.
The main references of KH music can be found in some of the genres that marked the British scene over the last two decades: the downtempo rhythm of trip-hop, with a frequent presence of melody, the soft sounds of ambient electronica, enriched with a complex drumming, and elements referring to dub and dark wave. The influence of bands such as Massive Attack, Portishead, Depeche Mode and Air can be detected.
The Katrine Hash debut album “Metropomorphic” saw the light of day initially as self-produced work in spring 2010. In 2009 Katrine Hash had composed four unpublished instrumental tracks used as soundtrack in the short-film “La finestra sul nulla (The window on nothingness)” by Francesco Russo, who then directed in 2011 the unsettling first band’s videoclip “Lies & fairytales”.
In 2011 the band was part of the roster of the Italian independent label Nomadism, which reissued the album “Metropomorphic”. The album obtained several enthusiastic reviews on musical webzines. A couple of songs were chosen for broadcast in the Italian programme for emerging artists “Demo” on Rai Radio1. Furthermore the track “Lies & fairytales” was aired by more than 100 local radios at the beginning of 2012.
Currently the band is working on the new album set to be released by late 2013.
