Kat is originally from the Canadian East Coast, and now makes Chilliwack, British Columbia her permanent home. Her family moved a lot when she was growing up, and she says music was one of the few things that were constant. She was introduced to music at a very young age, and has never looked back.

"Music was always playing in my house when I was a kid. If it wasn't the radio, or a CD, then it was one of my sister's, or my brother playing the piano, guitar, or singing. I honestly can't remember a time when I wasn't singing, or playing the piano growing up."

Kat first started taking vocal and piano lessons when she was 7. She developed a vocal power, and 3 octave range which allows her to sing any genre, but she says that her style is definitely R&B. "It just feels right, you know?" "It's where my vocals want to go naturally."

Kat's career has already achieved a substantial boost . She won a spot in the Metropolis Glee Club, was mentored by Canadian Icon Jann Arden, was a finalist in the Valley Voices Vocal Competition, performed live on ET Canada, and was the Grand Prize Winner of an EMI Music competition (now owned by Universal Records Canada). Her single On These Streets was signed and released by the label in July 2012.

Kat is currently writing new material for her first full length album. Her writing partner is none other than her mom Karen. "Not gonna lie, the first time my mom wrote a song with the word "sex" in it I thought I was going to die!" (You can listen to the acoustic version under the music tab.)

Thankfully she got over it, because the age difference, and life experiences of these two women has created a chemistry like none other. Deep and provocative lyrics that both inspire, and challenge what you think. That combined with Kat's incredible vocals, and you have the perfect match.
