Nkem Kareem Scotland better known to the public as "KaSpA De Lyrical" Was born on September 4th, 1990 in Trinidad & Tobago.
He resided in Patience Hill, Tobago and attended Plymouth Anglican. Went to the United States of America in 1995, returned home in 1996 and attended Scarborough Methodist Primary School for a few years. Nkem and his family then migrated to the United States of America in the year 2000, when his youngest brother Noland was born. He then began attending P.S.181 in the Fall of the year 2000, and successfully graduated in 2004. At graduation, he was presented with a plaque of Achievement in the Arts. Acing his specialized exam, he continued onto high school. In 2005 he began attending Brooklyn High School of the Arts, as an Art major. He was a well rounded student, and partakes in many extracurricular activities to keep active. In the years 2006 - 2007, he attended the Big Apple Games at John Jay High School for swimming and basketball acquiring Trophies, Certificates and Medals in both fields. This program allowed him to train and obtain the qualifications of a Certified Junior Lifeguard. During all his years of High School abroad, he was also an active member of the SESAME Flyers Youth Council and Steel Orchestra. Then in the year of 2007, his mother decided that she should send him back home to the islands to complete his schooling because the Education System is much higher and she believed he'd focus more. After taking a transfer from BHSA, he attended Signal Hill Comprehensive from 2007 - 2009. Nkem is a very talented young Entrepreneur, capable of playing all types of sports and he is very computer literate. He is inspired by musically talented artistes such as; Bunji Garlin, Lyrikal Martin, Kevin Lyttle, Sizzla Kalonji, Buju Banton, Capleton, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Pusha T and many other energetic performers like himself. More on his entertainment side of things, Nkem has performed on many big stages island wide with some well recognized entertainers that have been in the music business for years. His most profound moment was sharing Barcode stage with his biggest idle, the musical and lyrical icon Bunji Garlin alongside Problem Child and Faye Ann Lyons-Alvarez. Thus far the journey for him, he refers to as "living his dream" being able to meet and hold musical conversations with entertainers he once idolized. In his spear time, he creates and compiles his own compositions hoping to get signed to a major record label one day making his family proud.
