Minnesota Female Vocalist of the Year Award recipient Karen Vieno Paurus has been gracing stages nationally and internationally since 1986.
A true entertainer known as “The Sultry Chanteuse," she elegantly commands the stage, maneuvering between poignant, quirky, and sometimes even downright bawdy.

Ms. Paurus performed with Lili's Burlesque Revue for nearly a decade and has fronted such local bands as Holiday Ranch and BUG!. Her solo CD, "Passion, Prayer and Poison," is a collection of covers and originals by the singer/songwriter/pianist.

Paurus was the featured musical guest in "Stage Sessions" hosted by Heather McElhatton at the Fitzgerald Theater, with writers Robert Bly, Bill Holm, Kevin Kling, and many more. She was also a regular performer in the "Talking Volumes" series, using her original music to accompany readings by authors Jonathan Safran Foer and Jean Harfenist.

She appeared with Colleen Kruse at the Historic Pantages and Bryant Lake Bowl Theater’s sold-out productions of "Thirty Days in Frogtown," performing her original musical score.
