Russell Lamar Wilson (born June 28, 1989), who records under the mononym Juss Russ , is an American recording artist and actor. He originally became known for his music upon the emergence of his mentor the Grammy Award winning and late great singer/songwriter Stephen “Ellis” Garret also known as [StaticMajor] : who was a member of the R&B group titled Playa and known for his release with rapper/icon Lil Wayne titled Lolipop

In June 2009, Juss Russ joined Double A Entertainment Group for a contract year. In January 2010, Juss Russ became a national sensation in the online market. Winning countless Independent Artist awards followed by numerous press releases about him as an artist.

Juss Russ is set to release an R&B debut album titled "Harder" in 2012; all songs included in the album were written by Juss Russ and a follow-up album is expected in the future along with collaborations from several known artists; however the album has been postponed for various reasons.

Juss Russ is quickly becoming known worldwide as an elite singer/songwriter. With the success of his hit singles like Shortie Bad , Tell Me , & Now We’re Flying Juss Russ has been nominated for several awards including statewide nominations for the Independent R&B artist of the year. He was ranked No. 1 on OurStage charts and several Independent Artist hype charts.

Biography/Early life and career beginnings

Russell 'Juss Russ' Wilson was born on June 28, 1989 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the son of Steven Wilson, a pianist and R&B musician. Two of his uncles, Michael Bryan and Doug Taul were also musicians who worked with several Jazz & known Pop Artists from the 80's. His father is an African American from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his mother is part Irish and Cherrokee Indian. He attended a notable High school and graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Business Administration. His parents divorced when he was five years old, and he was raised by his mother in Pittsburgh’s wealthy Allegheny County neighborhood. Juss Russ attended high school at duPont Manual High School, where he began acting, graduating with a 3.75 GPA. He spent most summers with his father in Philadelphia. Juss Russ stated that his parents’ divorce greatly affected him as a person, saying, “I had to become a man very quickly and be the backbone for a woman who I love with all my heart, my mother.” In 2001, Juss Russ lost his Grandfather in the tragic World Trade Center bombings and attributes most of his success to him.
