While living in Sevilla, attending electronic classes at Universidad Laboral, José Luis Perales was captivated by songwriting, getting a record deal in 1970 after meeting Rafael Trabucelli from Hispavox. A song called "Por Qué Te Vas," performed by Jeanette, became his first hit. Later, debuting as a singer with "Celos De Mi Guitarra," a major local success, soon climbing on the most important charts throughout Latin America with romantic ballads such as "Quisiera Decir Tu Nombre" and "Y Como Es El." ~ Drago Bonacich
