Jon Pearn - Biography
Jon Pearn is one of the world’s most respected and innovative producers. Over his long and distinguishedcareer Jon has enjoyed widespread commercial success, initially as one half of Full Intention, and morerecently with Bodyrox.
Working alongside Michael Gray as Full Intention, Jon first hit the UK charts with a mix for Duke on ‘So In LoveWith You’. Producing as Full Intention and a number of different aliases such as Hustler’s Convention, DeepDown and Disco-Tex, Jon and Michael went onto on to be one of the world’s most celebrated production duos.
Full Intention’s impressive discography includes anthems such as ‘America (I Love America)’, ‘Everbody LovesThe Sunshine’ and ‘I’ll Be Waiting’, while their prolific remix schedule saw them remix artists such as MariahCarey, Brandy, Jamiroquai, Ultra Nate, Jennifer Lopez and Frankie Knuckles. In 2004, Jon and Michael werenominated for a ‘Grammy’ for their remix on George Michael’s ‘Amazing’.
Since mixing the acclaimed compilation ‘Connected – 10 Years Of Full Intention’ on Defected in 2006 andreleasing ‘I Believe In You’ on Eye Industries in 2007, Jon has been focusing on the Bodyrox project. Workingalongside Nick Bridges, the massive ‘Yeah, Yeah’ took the world by storm in 2006 and received universal radioand club support. ‘Yeah, Yeah’ picked up UK radio support from the likes of Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Fergie,Dave Pearce, Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Annie Mac, Edith Bowman and Annie Nightingale and once supplementedby a unique vocal from Luciana became the defining anthem to the ‘Nu Rave’ movement. Upon its official releasein October 2006, ‘Yeah, Yeah’ debuted at #2 in the UK charts and still receives regular plays on national radio.
Throughout 2007, Jon was nominated for a prestigious Ivor Novello Award (‘Best Contemporary Song’) for‘Yeah, Yeah’ before achieving further widespread success with the Another Chance project and ‘What PlanetYou On’ – the follow up Bodyrox single. ‘Everytime I See Her (Sound Of Eden)’ was collaboration with NickBridges under the Another Chance pseudonym that also received heavy support and hit the summit of the clubcharts.
Additionally, Jon launched his own Juki Records imprint which has released a number of acclaimed releasessuch as ‘$treet Price’ and ‘Trippin’’ – releases that have been supported by the likes of Deep Dish, SanderKleinenberg, Nic Fanciulli and Mark Knight. It was through Juki Records that Jon first collaborated with NickBridges as Pearn & Bridges on ‘$treet Price’.
Jon had another stellar year in 2008 touring the world DJing with Full Intention and Bodyrox before getting backin the studio and since the launch of Full Intention Records in 2009, Michael Gray & Jon Pearn have notched upseveral infectious club hits with Once In a Lifetime, I Will Follow, Forever, Play and new remixes of America –which is still spreading its sound across global dance floors. Their releases have achieved multiple playlist statusacross all dance radio networks; seeing strong support from the likes of Eric Prydz, Carl Cox, Chris Lake,Funkagenda, ATFC, Tom Novy, Paul Harris, Jonathan Ulysses, Joe T Vannelli, Eddie Thoneick, David Morales,Seb Fontaine, Danny Rampling, Steve Smart, The Shapeshifters, Seamus Haji, Tony Humphries and manymore.
On the Bodyrox front Jon & Nick enjoyed another top 10 with the release of "We dance on" in June 2010which debuted at #6 in the UK charts and was also the soundtrack to the #1 box office hit "Streetdance 3D".
Moving forward to 2012 there’s a Bodyrox album in the pipeline having recently signed an album deal withTransmission, a new Bodyrox single called “Bow Wow Wow” featuring Chipmunk, a new Full Intention releasewith "Signification" and also an exciting new project called Polluted Mindz with the first single “ride my beat’ justbeen signed to labels worldwide.
