b. Jackson, Mississippi, USA.
UK-based soul-dance vocalist, and cousin of Carleen Anderson, whose fame initially revolved around her work for the Shamen ("Ebeneezer Goode") and Soul Family Sensation ("I Don't Even Know If I Should Call You Baby"), having left her media course and session singing duties in Los Angeles for London in 1988. After guesting on Björk's debut album, she earned herself a solo contract with Dorado Records. The first single to emerge was the self-written "Sally's Knockin'", followed by "All I Need", a jazzy hip-hop workout that saw her united with Lee Hamblin (famed for his production with Christy Moore, PM Dawn, Sindecut, Maxi Priest, etc.).
