Vocalist, songwriter and violinist Jessie Kennedy..West Cork, Ireland.
One of Jessie's first gigs was playing violin with Donovan, aged 8, and she was given her first guitar as a child by the legendary Irish songwriter Jimmy McCarthy (Ride On, No Frontiers etc.),
Jessie starred in director Claire Lynch's 1991 award-winning movie 'Fruit 15'.
Jessie has worked and performed with the best of Irish musicians- Paul Tiernan (Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist), who also produced Jessie's album, and a tour in Switzerland to launch her album with Interference (best known for their song on the soundtrack to the Oscar-winning film ONCE), Maurice Seezer, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Marja Gaynor, Bertrand Galen (String arrangements on 'The Swell Season'), Kieran Kennedy, Acclaimed Guitarist Sara Corkery, Dave Clarke, Meteor award-nominees New Colour Soul, and many others.
Most recently Jessie has worked as a vocalist with the composer Sacha Puttnam, on his epic soundtrack for the Nintendo game 'Heroes of Ruin', and also featured on his 'Peyong-Chang' contribution to the London Olympics, 2012.
Jessie is now part of an exciting new group- THE VESPERTINE QUINTET' (featuring composers and violinists Justin Grounds, Jo Perry, visual artist and cellist Tess Leak, and Susan McManamon)..which includes strings, piano and sometimes vocals, playing interesting, sparse and beautiful pieces by other composers, as well as some Baroque and Renaissance chamber music.
Jessie's debut album 'Field of the Wicked', was released in 2009, and is available online from ITUNES and CDBABY.
