      Emerald Milk at West Thumb Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. This is one of the larger pools at this particular area.

      These pools are nearly boiling hot. There is a whole classification of life that lives in these, too. They're prokaryotes like bacteria.

      The prokaryotic life that exists in these pools, however, are from domain Archaea, as opposed to more common bacteria from domain Bacteria.

      Because of vandalism (tossed coins and whatnot), the temperature of these pools have cooled enough to allow algae to grow along the edges.
