Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Jeff Merchant had an extensive background in performing before launching a solo career in 2006.
He created the alternative songwriter showcase Broken Mic, which held a regular residency at the Spaceland nightclub in Silverlake. He co-fronted the band MetaTonic and was the frontman for the band PG-13 before becoming a member of the Lullabies, who released their debut album, Lullabies' Lullaby, in 2004. While continuing to work with this group, he also recorded his own debut solo album, Window Rolled Down, which was released by True Classical CDs in February 2006. He followed it with City Makes No Sound, released in August 2009. ~ William Ruhlmann
