Born in Harlem,New York and was raised in Suffolk County, New York. Joey started recording at the age of seventeen. In 2000, Joey lost his mother, Linda Combs to cancer. Battz didn't know his father Jose Muniz, till the year 2010. Joey conceived (2002) his first child Matthew Muniz. In New York City (2004), he performed his first mixtape " Battz Begins" at Club Pyramid. Soon after his mixtape was released in 2005. Joey's first radio show (2006) was on 90.1 Street Fm radio. From 2007 to 2009 he worked on performing at local open mic nights. At BB-Kings (2010), Battz performed as a featured artist. Joey's second mixtape "Rhymes Unlimited" (2011) was featured by Bravo and hosted by "DJ SephOne", also, Battz recorded with "Dj Kool Kid" on mixtape's such as " League of my own", "Creepin threw the hood", and "Point Blank". "On the mic" withC.Wells was another hit in (2012). Currently (2013), JoeyBattz joined forced with Hit-Squad & Team TakeOver, and recently dropped "Symphony 2013", featuring Battz, Nymrod, Comatoze, Michael Nixx, Signature, Nam Nitty.
