Jamie Buckley Saysell (born 24th July 1965) infamously known as Jamie Irie, was born in Cheltenham and raised in the multi-cultural heart of Gloucester in England.
From a young age, Jamie had a passion for music. Heavily influenced by his love of Jamaican dance-hall and reggae music, he grew up listening to the likes of Big Youth, Tappa Zukie and Mighty Diamonds. Jamie became friends with many industry professionals, namely artists such as Daddy Freddy, Tenafly, Sir Coxson HIFI and the late Ivanhoe Campbell from Severn Sound radio to name a few. It wasn't long before Jamie was penning and recording tracks of his own. By 1994 Jamie was living in America, during this time he had begun performing live and started touring. Irie quickly found himself rising to fame as he worked with some of the top names in the dancehall and reggae scene, both in New York & Jamaica. Jamie also worked with the label ' Iron Mike', owned by famous heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson while living in America.

While establishing his career, Jamie went to live in Kingston Jamaica, where he used his experiences and influences to hone his skills. He has performed on the Mighty Stone Love sound & Bodyguard sound who are two of the top sound­-systems in Jamaica. Jamie also spent a period performing with well-know Jamaican artists like Shaggy, Elephant man, Ninjah man, Buju Banton and Chuck Fender , In 1995/96. He toured Jamaica doing PA’s performing on top reggae stage shows such as Sting 96 and was called back to Sting 2004 , Reggae Sun-splash, Red stripe tour 95 etc and also performed in all the inercity area,s in Kingston .. Jamie also appeared on Jamaica’s CMTV and many other cable stations. He has worked with Jamaican producer/superstar Sly Dunbar and released tracks on the Sonic Sound Label and also Computer Paul, 7 17 Marshal [Mr Fender] and Don One in New York who famous in this paticular genre. Across the international waters, Jamie Irie achieved chart success with his tracks M.16 and Sweet Sensimilla featuring Jigsy King 1996/97.

Unforunately, Jamie's time abroad was cut short after having to return back to the UK to deal with emergency family matters .

Jamie Irie started his climb back to fame by building his own studio, where he wrote and produced the album "Words can be so simple". with europe,s number 1 reggae band House of Riddim . While embarking on the journey back to fame he draws on his experiences, which he uses to write the lyrics of his music. While producing the album, Jamie observes the recent change in the industry and the needs of the modern youth, which led to him incoporating collaborations with Drum and Brass/Jungle producers and still keeping in with his Reggae roots with rhythms from producers like Rcola,Aries , Serial killaz, Cabin Fever & Jamie Bostran . By 2009 Jamie was touring the UK and various European countries such as Latvia and Lithuania with Drum and Bass producer Rcola on the Irie Cola tour, which was a mixture of both original Reggae roots and Jungle music. Jamie then went on to tour to Italy with the legendary Aswad and Misty in Roots .

The single "Words can be so simple" (on the album of same title) went to no 4 in the Italian DJ Gustma t reggae chart, and was also released on vinyl as a remix of "Words can be so simple" and "Sweet Sensimilla" with Rcola . Also on digital the track Legalise taken from the album (Words ) got a Rcola remix that went in at 39 in Irish dance charts. Also Irie has a release with GMC productions on a soundbwoy killing tune My Sound that hit at number 10 in the Gustma t charts in Italy also got a remix from UK number 1 drum & bass duo Serial Killaz plus video!

. The album was well received and the title track Words Can Be So Simple. got a brand new remixed and voiced as a duet with Daddy Freddy in 2013 by Aries and was release as a EP with other great artist such as Jah Mason.Charlton Livingston.Pad Antony.Zareb. and the House of Riddim on Saysell Music Jamie's own lable ..A brand new release and video on DubwiseStation a track called 2 B with AB20 and remixes from Issac Maya. Ustone. Viniselecta & overdubs by IDavid. Jamie is also working close with the Yard Rock crew with Marvelous Cain and has a brand new release out soon the Yard Rock anthem.

The brand new album from Jamie NAH GIVE UP with producer IDavid is about to be released early 2014.

2013 was a busy year for Irie touring and doing live P A s with the Yardrock crew and dj Scotty from Unrbanfront in Europe and UK i.e Sub Club Bratislava Slovakia. Loop club Essentials Nuremberg.Germany . Beats for Love Festival Ostrava Czech Republic. The Big Chill London UK . Dubwise Stasion Basement 45 Bristol . Fantasia club motion Bristol . Dirty Knees Moon Club Cardiff Wales.

On August, the 17th Jamie Irie did a show at the Loop Club in Nuremberg, Germany. he did a live pa alongside the Monsters of Jungle crew he entertained and totaly rocked the crowd with a great 1 hr set !

We loved Jamie at our Jammin night in Subclub this year. He completely mixed his reggae songs to jungle and tore up the nuclear shelter, people went crazy and me as dj Fatsound was so happy to be part of it. It was one of the most inspiring, crazy and energetic shows in Slovakia ever. Hope to see him soon at the Uprising festival in Bratislava.
