Hefner guitarist Jack Hayter had no intention to record his own songs until their singer, Darren Hayman, encouraged him to give it a try.
After setting up in his own house, he put together the lo-fi acoustic effort Practical Wireless in 2002. Featuring his weary voice and sparse accompaniment, the album landed on Absolutely Kosher Records that summer. ~ Bradley Torreano
