Invictus was founded in 2005 by André Wall and his father Norman Wall.
Norman was born in Urmston, near Manchesterand spent his youth singing Crooning-style songs at different venues in Britain. In the late 50s he studied Fashion Design at the Manchester School of Art. Norman met Swedish girl Birgitta in London, the soon after married and moved to Sweden in 1968. There he became a comparatively succesfull Directorand Playwrite. His plays have been performed throughout the country and by"Oslo Stadsteater". He has directed actors like Samuel Fröler, famousfrom the TV Show "Skärgårdsdoktorn".
André was raised in Västerås, and moved to London in 1994, after receiving a scholarship at Tennis College inSutton. In 1995 he began competing professionaly on the Senior ATP Tour.Beginning his carreer by playing the Grand Slam "Wimbledon"at the ageof 16. He is still one of the youngest player ever to participate in"Wimbledon". After ending his tenniscareer in 2000, musicmaking andperforming became his main plan and ambition. His musical abilities quickly progressed by activity. And in 2001 he entered the "Royal Music Academy"in Stockholm, where he studied Music Theory, Music History and Structure and Development within Music Genres. In 2002 he began performing more frequently in Stockholm and released the album "Dream Away 2002" He also joined other bands ands as a singer and songwriter. André has recently received great succes as a soloartist after releasing his bigselling Album "Barcelona Diaries"in 2009. The Music can be describedas melodic Pop/Rock with slight influences of Folkrock and Bluegrass. André toured in Sweden & in the UK during spring 2010 to promote the new Single "Lucy" and in The US during June 2010. Starting at "The Shrine", New York on June 6th." Lucy " had great success in both sides of the Globe. It reached the number 1 spot on (SNL) ,The Swedish Radio Charts. and maintained that position for 6 weeks running.. The song was composed by André Wall and with lyrics by Norman & André Wall.
André and Norman has written songs together for over 15 years. Father and son founded the group INVICTUS to spread 1900-Century poetry together with music Composed by André Wall. Often accompanied by piano or fingerpicking guitar. The duo soon achieved appreciation from the English listeners, who thought the band brought those great old poems back to life. Band name of course was taken in honour of the great poem by Henley. Invictus released the Album "Out of the Night" in May 2010. And the EP "Petal Pie Song" 2012. Which was officially released in honour of Queen Ellizabeth II´s 60 years on the throne. André And Norman was invited on the 16th of November 2012 To the British Ambassador´s Residence in Stockholm to perform the song.
