Imperium were a progressive heavy metal band from the town of Hengelo, in Holland, consisting of vocalist Andre Vuurboom, sibling guitarists Michel and Rob Cerrone, bassist Remco Nijkamp, and drummer Patrick Gerritzen.
Their lone 1993 album, Too Short a Season, was surprisingly confident and accomplished for a first effort, and drew positive comparisons to major bands like Fates Warning, Dream Theater, and, during its thrashier moments, Texan originals Watchtower. But it never received proper distribution or promotion from the band's independent record label, Leviathan, and before too long Imperium had quietly broken up, never to be heard from again. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
