Talented singer/songwriter Fato (born Enrique Guzmán Yáñez) began performing at a very young age, debuting with a song called "El Príncipe Pobre" and winning the prestigious Viña del Mar festival in 1994 with "El Monstruo." Fato issued a self-titled album that same year.
After composing for prominent Latin artists, Fato created a personal style he called alternative mariachi, a mixture of Latin pop and Mexican traditional music. He performed this style of music on his following record, Terrenal, released in 2001. ~ Drago Bonacich
