Hope & Suicide's rise out of the Florida swamps came around the turn of the century, when former members of several punk metal combos came together behind Bloodlet screamer Scott Anglacos.
Inspired to rush their career towards their goals, they were recording demos a little less than two months after their debut, an astonishing feat made even more impressive by the fact that label attention immediately followed. Signing to Revelation, the band hit the road with Shai Hulud and traveled the East Coast promoting their upcoming album release. Dropped in the winter of 2002, Razorblade Smile was a dense and vicious slab of hardcore punk dripping with aggressive metal riffs and a penchant for intelligent, reflective lyrics. ~ Bradley Torreano
