First, a moment of silence for the loss of Jason Lee Lockwood, co-founder, co-owner, and brother who passed away in NOV 2012.

As with finding this site still kicking after all these years, your memory will live on my dear friend.

Hell City Records has and will always be something founded on the bases of family, community, and the hope that no matter how bad life, or changes, at the heart the love of family and community will always prevail.

Jason was one of my best friends for many years, and ever since I met him in Royal Oak in the summer of 1994 he always had the passion of music.

Back in 2004 Jason was starting this band called Whiskey Diaries and one day we had a conversation and he mentioned that it would be cool if he had his own label to put out their album.

I responded half jokingly that we should start our own label and do it.

From there the seed was planted and we started putting together our first release "Whiskey Diaries - Hangman".

The name "Hell City Records" comes from a Whiskey Diaries song and refers to when he was a way from his girlfriend at the time. The line stated "Hell City I am coming home".

I am not sure when this will be updated next, but I know that no matter what, no matter where, the spirit of Hell City Records will live on.

Thank you for everyone whom has supported us over the years and continues to support us.

Also, don't worry...

There is a new Hell City Records that is rising from the ashes.

So this story is to be continued....

Best Regards,

Robert Enell
