Chicago lo-fi group Heavy Times play a noisy blend of traditional garage rock and jangle pop, filtering catchy melodies through skuzzy recording equipment.
Forgoing a bass player, Cacaw drummer Kyle Reynolds and duel guitarists Bo Hanson and Matt Courtade recorded their debut LP Dead in 2010, and Rotted Tooth Recordings released it in a limited run of 300 copies. After Dinosaur Club Records released their Too Many Dreamers EP as a collector's item (printing only ten 12" copies), Heavy Times' sophomore full-length Jacker followed on Hozac in 2011. ~ Jason Lymangrover
