Formed in 1996 by Chico Maloca (bass), Junai (vocal), Cacai (electric guitar), Dred (vocal/harmonicas), Flávio Leão (drums), Caju (flutes/percussion) and Radi (percussion), the group is based in Brasília (Federal District), a place detached from the artistic scenery, which may account for its experimental, commercially disinterested approach. Recording the independent Siga o Sol e Vá em Frente, they perform onstage in tribal outfits and covered by argil, trying to create a ritualistic atmosphere for which concur the percussion and wind instruments invented and built by Junai from disposable materials. The album was promoted in 1999/2000 in a Northeastern tour through Fortaleza, Natal, João Pessoa, Recife, Olinda and Itacaré and in August 2000 they performed a show in Rio de Janeiro realizing, as usual, a workshop on building their instruments.
