Born into a music-loving family in the small town of Wolf Point, Montana, the fifth in a maternal line of pianists, her youth was filled with singing and playing music in a household with a rich collection of popular song sheet music from the 1920s and '30s that remains her artistic foundation.

After entering the Seattle area in 1989, she developed a captivating and emotive style of progressive rock songwriting and performed solo with her keyboard whenever she could while also raising two children. She let go of all of that as her children were successfully growing into adulthood, she made a pivotal move and relocated to New Orleans in 2011, which allowed her to return to her musical roots of the 20s and 30s. She currently performs locally in New Orleans and has developed an entertaining swing era dance band there.
