Formed in New York in 1997 as a one-sided project of Luana, the main songwriter and guitarist, Godbox eventually evolved into a composite project with various collaborations by several producers and musicians. However, over a long-term period, drummer Dave Halpern regularly contributed to the group's creations and therefore ultimately became Godbox's second member. The group's sole soundings and astonishing live presentations ultimately secured them a consistent and loyal following, mostly within the local underground scene. In 2001, and after securing the works of producer Andres Karu, the NY ensemble entered the studio to record their debut album, Dark, Damp & Cold, which hit the record stores that same year. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges
