Glenn Marais is an important artist whose words and music speakout against injustice and inequality in a powerful and melodic voice that isequally haunting and beautiful.
Heuses his music for healing and hope through his company, Music in Mind, teachingcharacter education through music, motivational speaking, curriculum kits,workshops, activities and school assemblies to thousands of students inspiringthem to get involved locally and globally with his universal motto, “Give to live”!

Achievements

· Glenn co-wrote the song “Everybody Wants to Be Like You”, withthe artist, “Snow” in 2000. The song was the second fastest rising song in Canadianhistory, reaching the Top Ten and is currently the fifth most played song inCanadian radio history.

· Glenn received a Socan award and was nominatedfor a Juno award in the best songwriting category for “Everybody Wants to Be Like You”.

· Glenn came second in the 2006 Mix 99.9 Canadian Radio Star Contest, with his entry, “Don’t Let Your Love Go”

· Glenn is an Ontario Arts Council Member artist and also a pioneering artistwith the Artist in Residence programin the York Region District School Board

· Drafted and implemented a youthleadership camp for Native Youth across Canada in 2009.

· Glenn traveled to Swaziland in 2009 as part of the Heart for Africa foundation to act as music director/composer foran international concert event, CelebrateLitsemba, which featured at risk children performing for other at riskchildren. He returned in 2010 to Swazilandfor Celebrate Litsemba 2010 to beperformed in the national stadium for 15 000 at risk children.

· In November 2005, Glennflew to Africa to film a video for his song, “Like a Child”. It debuted on Much More Music on Jan.30th/2006 andreached the number one position on Much More Music’s “Clip Trip” show. On Sunday Aug.13th /06, the video for Like aChild, debuted at the Rogers Centre Skydome for the Toronto International AIDS Conference. On Friday Aug.18th/06 Glenn Closed the AIDS conference with aperformance of Like a Child in front of 7000 people, broadcast internationallyon CBC Newsworld.

· Like a Child was on rotation on AC and HOT AC stations across Canada,receiving rave reviews:

· Like a Child made it on tothe MUSIC MENU POWER PICK TOP TEN PAGE for “Canadian Network Magazine”



· He returned to Cotlands Orphanage in Cape Town, South Africain 2009 to film and visit with the director of the orphanage. Glenn is raising money to purchase the landfor Cotlands to have a permanent facility. He has raised $90 000 to datewith his Kids for Cotlands campaignand is working with The Stephen LewisFoundation and the York Region District School Board to raise one milliondollars by the year 2010.

· Glenn was selected to write the songfor the 25th anniversary of the AIDSCandlelight Vigil in Toronto in June 2009. The vigil is one of the largest and longest running in North America. He composed andsang the song, “Can You See Me.”

· Composed the song, “On the Shoulders of Giants”, which wasselected for the celebration of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday bythe Nelson Mandela Children’s Foundationin Canada.



· Keynote speaker at Together We’re Better Conference,The largest student conference in the Calendar, for the YRDSB, in 2007,2008 and 2009.



· Guest performer and presenter at theYRDSB “Power of Literacy through theArts” Conference, 2008 and 2009
