Kwajo Boateng and partner L "Dolo" Frazer came from Rexdale, Ontario, a ward-community deep in the heart of Toronto.
Together, they formed the rap duo Ghetto Concept and produced a slew of independently distributed recordings on vinyl and cassette. They won their very first Juno Award in 1994 for the independently released single "Certified Dope." The following year they released "E-Z on tha Motion," winning the 1995 Juno Award. With no major-label backing, these independent rappers released a self-titled, full-length in late 1998 on their own 7 Bills Entertainment label. ~ Roxanne Blanford
