GenevieveWilkinsis an Australian born multi-percussionist who is basedin London.
She is a member of “ensemblebash”,UK’s premiere percussion ensemble and a founding member of “The G Project”, anexciting and virtuosic collaboration with cellist Gabriella Swallow. Genevievehas performed with and/or recorded with Nash Ensemble, Joanna MacGregor, LionelRichie, Akon, Robbie Williams, Josh Groban, Joby Burgess, Max de Wardener, DJPanko (Ojos de Brujo), Cerys Matthews, DJ Pathaan, Alex Wilson, Gavin Bryars,Karen David, Alex Phountzi (Bugz in the Attic), Monika Lidke, Andrew Poppy,Mark-Anthony Turnage, Shiva Feshareki and the Brodsky Quartet (WimbledonFestival Britten collaboration 2010).
Genevieve was the performance musical director for the 2013/14 premiereof the musical “American Psycho” for theAlmeida Theatre. Her other theatrecredits include “Thriller Live” (West End and Stadium Tour), “Tap Dogs” (WestEnd and Australia), “Never Forget” (West End) and as musical director/principalpercussionist for various productions at the Shakespeare Globe Theatre(including worldwide cinematic release). Genevieve’s orchestral credits include the City of Birmingham SymphonyOrchestra (percussion feature concert) London Sinfonia, Malaysian Philharmonic,New London Orchestra and the West Australian Symphony.
Genevievehas a strong background in Music Education andis currently a professor at the Royal College of Music, where she givespercussion masterclasses and is also an outreach mentor. In additionGenevieve teaches undergraduate percussion performance at Guildhall School ofMusic and Drama and is a Musical Awareness teacher for Junior Guildhall ofMusic. She has devised a series of percussion workshops which she presents forvarious schools, tertiary institutions, music education societies andfestivals. These have included the RoyalCollege of Music (UK), Spitalfields Festival, Creative Futures, Create, Universityof Western Australia, Elevancos International Orff Conference, Australia’sMusica Viva and the Shanghai International and American Schools. She haspreviously been involved with devising, presenting and leading concert seriesfor Children’s Music Workshop and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra’sEducational Chamber Orchestra (EchO).
