Emerging into the spotlight from East Palo Alto, CA the songstress quickly began during her high school years, Folami began to sing backup for local Bay Area acts in various jazz night clubs.
She continued formal training at Howard University where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre. Spawned from a musical heritage that involves traditional African influence as well as early American jazz and blues. Folami remixes the music of yesterday while creating her own new style in the world of music today. Her music combines the zest of loud trumpets, caress of soft strings, a splash of that astounding 808 and the hypnotizing hum of her melodic soprano. Folami is currently is touring with CHIC and Nile Rodgers.
