Like labelmates Zeke and Camarosmith, Flamethrower bring back hard rock -- the likes of everything from AC/DC to Monster Magnet -- with a vengeance.
Taking the demonic aggression of Motorhead and fusing it with the dirty, garage punk riffs of the Supersuckers (and some of the dark vibes of Black Flag even), the band builds a down-home behemoth of metallic fury.
The Seattle group formed in 2000 with Brian High on vocals and guitar, Yager on bass, Tony Rodriguez on drums and Chico King singing backup and playing guitar. The band's drunk and angry self-titled debut finds the group laying down tales of getting wasted with the intensity of a late ‘80s SST outfit. Recorded by famed producer Jack Endino, the album was released on his Dead Teenager label in 2003. ~ Charles Spano
