The band formed in Cardiff around 2004 and were active across the South Wales music scene in the mid 2000's, enjoying flirtations with a number of record labels, despite ultimately remaining unsigned. They recorded an unfinished album, from which material has not been released until ten years later in early 2017 and made a brief appearance at the 2006 Reading Festival. The group was left on indefinite hiatus in 2009.

Feral Chile's band members remain in touch while active on separate projects, and plan on reuniting to play a series of shows in the near future.
