At 14, Felander began to write and produce songs for himself and other independent artists around the area. He was hired to sing regularly by minor league baseball team, Montgomery Biscuits, and became known as the "Serenading Biscuit" from 2005-2007. Once Felander graduated from Jeff Davis HS, he attended Alabama A&M University. During his time there, Opera and Classical music played a major role in repertoire as he became a member of the University Choir. While there, he received a better understanding of what he was vocally capable of.

Not only is Felander a well-embraced singer/ songwriter, he has also had the opportunity to grace the live theatre stage. He was “bitten by the acting bug" at a young age. His mom, Tanyu, saw his strong interest in the arts so she enrolled him in the summer theatre camps, TAPS & CAMP 3T. Both camps hosted at Alabama State University under the direction of world renowned actress, Dr. Tonea Stewart. "Teaching the world of theatre, all while building self-esteem, character and confidence through singing, acting and dancing" is one of the objectives for the programs. That's exactly what Felander grasped. He continues to be the showstopper in every role. Some of his credits include: “JIMMY ‘THUNDER‘ EARLY” (Dreamgirls), "HARPO" (Color Purple), "DONKEY" (Shrek), "ANDRE" (Ain’t Misbehavin’), "JUDAS US/ THOMAS" (Jesus Christ Superstar) and "JACOB" (La Cage aux Folles) just to name a few. He loves the stage at any form. Felander is an actor that you can always count on to deliver a great performance . He will have audiences leaving with a smile and new memories.
