Often criticized for being rather obvious Opeth clones (hey, they could have done a lot worse in terms of cloning materials), Finland's Farmakon produce progressive death metal marked by epic compositions and ambitious creative variety.
Founded in 2001 by vocalist/bassist Marko Eskola, guitarists Lassi Paunonen and Toni Salminen, and drummer Riku Airisto, the group debuted with 2003's daring A Warm Glimpse and, now featuring new drummer Matti Auerkallio, has yet to prove they can forgo a voice of their own with a follow-up album. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
