Started as a solo project, Faire du Surf came together in their parent's Vancouver garage in December 2009 and continued to grow over the next year, becoming leaders of the Pacific NW Indie Surf scene.
After their song “Lit Up” became the #1 Most Downloaded Song on PureVolume.com with over 45,000 downloads in August, 2010, the band released their first EP “Turn to Dust” on Sept 28, 2010.Griffin and Ian relocated to Seattle, WA in September of 2012, while Tyler moved to Tacoma and Brennan to Southern California. Griffin and Ian added childhood friend Jacob Taylor on guitar, though they struggled over the next few months to get things started.
The band decided to go on hiatus in November, 2012 but there have recently been talks of a regrouping. Stay tuned!
