Fad Nu vive da cumplicidade intimista que nasce do diálogo cénico e musical entre a cantora e o guitarrista, personagens fulcrais e identificadoras do género reconhecido como Fado. Com evidentes ligações à tradição, apresenta-se no entanto como uma opção livre de dogmas e aberta aos novos caminhos da globalização artística. Poesia com sumo, música com garra e palco com alma, são ingredientes que dão unidade a um espetáculo que pretende não só dar ao fado uma roupagem diferente da tradicional, como também trazer para o fado coisas que nunca lá estiveram. É neste sentido que se abrem portas aos grandes poetas e trovadores da língua portuguesa, alargando e descobrindo novos repertórios e estabelecendo pontes e afinidades entre diferentes géneros e raízes culturais. Fad Nu não tem credos nem fronteiras, tal como a música e a poesia encontra a sua verdade e a sua essência na descoberta de um caminho aberto, que se reinventa a cada novo passo.

Fado

Fado music is a traditional form of urban folkmusic from Portugal. Traditionally,it was performed by a single vocalist (called, fadista) with two or threeguitarists. The typical Instrument used in Fado is the Portuguese Guitar (stringinstrument with twelve steel strings) and the Classic Guitar or Fado Viola. Inpopular belief, Fado is a form of music characterized by mournful tunes andlyrics, which often talk about the sea or the life of the people, infused witha characteristic sentiment of resignation, fatefulness and melancholia (looselycaptured by the word "saudade", or longing). Fado expresses lifein her multi experiences, opening doors to the poets that tell us aboutemotions and the life’s stories from each one of us.

In 2011 Fado was declared Intangible CulturalHeritage of Humanity, distinguishes by UNESCO as an expression of identity andculture of Portuguese People.

Juicy poetry, strong music and a soul as performance,are the ingredients that unite a showthat not only intends to give to Fado music a different view of the traditionalone, as well as to bring to Fado things that had never been there. It is inthis direction that the doors open to the great poets of the Portugueselanguage, widening and discovering new repertoires and establishing bridges andaffinities between different sorts and cultural roots. Fad´Nu does not havecreeds or borders, just as music and poetry find their truth and their essencein the discovery of an opened way, which is reinvented on each new step.
