Eva Rydén - Swedish dramatic Soprano with a warm tone, volume and wide vocal range.
Her varity of repertoire - Opera, Operettas, Lieder/Songs, Oratorios, Musikal-Theatre, Sacred music, National Character music, Popular and Contemporary music.
She feels most compfortable in Operas from Wagner, Verdi and Puccini.
Eva Rydén was born in Malmoe in southern Sweden and has studied with several teachers, for example private for operasinger Karin Mang-Habashi in Sweden than at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg with Prof. Rudolf Knoll and Prof. Horiana Branisteanu in Singing class, Lied/Oratorio class, Opera class - which resulted with the highest award "mit Auszeichnung" and Magister Artium- diploma (Magistra der Künste).
At the Mozarteum received Eva besides the large foreign Scholarship also the prestigious singing prize Gianna Szel - "For the best and the most beautiful voice".
Eva has also been awarded sereval other scholarship such as; Fredrika Bremer, from The Artists Foundation, The Crafoord Foundation and Torsten Tegstams Award to name a few.
Eva has made many master classes both in Sweden and abroad for example with; Madame Iris Adami- Corradetti, Barbara Ann Martin, Brigitte Fassbänder, Thomas Hampson, Håkan Hagegård.
Thereto Eva had Birgit Nilsson as a mentor for many years; been giving technical advise, praise and criticism, inspiration, repetoire advice and encouragement.
Eva Rydén is after her completed education in Salzburg working as freelancer, her internationally operadebut at the Bayreuther Festspiele in Germany as Helmwige in Valkyrie with among others Plàcido Domingo and Maestro Giuseppe Sinopoli.
Eva has also been a soloist at the Probaltica Festival in Poland, Michaeli Festival, Theatre Mancinelli in Italy, The New Opera in Denmark, Lund State Theatre in Sweden, South Sweden Opera Company and earlier even at Morianska Theatre and The New Theatre both in Sweden.
For acceptance her Diploma roles as Mimi in La Bohème, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Marta in Lowland, Arminda in La Finta Giardiniera, has Eva also sung; Agathe in Der Freischütz, Getrud in Hänsel und Gretel, Mercedes in Carmen, First Lady in The Magic Flute, Eboli in Don Carlos, the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana, Aida, Tosca in concertversion, Mrs.Benneth in Pride and Prejudice, Helmwige in Valkyrie, 3 Norn in Götterdämmerung, Ortlinde in Valkyrie, the titel role in Princess Zade, Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro.
She has participated as soloist in serveral countries in both Radio and Television, as in the Swedish Radio and Swedish Television.
Eva Rydén is also a frequent concert-singer in various contexts, both in Sweden and around Europe, often as soloist with great choirs not least in most oratorios and Christmas Concert, as well as Lied singer, with opera, operetta and Musikal-Theatre repertoire.
With a large choir she has recorded a personally written "Ave Maria" by Andrzej Ferber, who is released on CD, which has been made at serveral concerts around in both Sweden and Denmark.
Eva has also worked as a producer, director manager and soloist in the tour "From Opera to Musikal-Theatre" - theatrical concerts, which received favorable reviews. One of these concerts was visited by Birgit Nilsson, who praised the Concert very highly.
Eva is a successful interpreter of Wagner with parts from Tannhäuser, Lohengrin, Brünhilde in Valkyrie and Götterdämmerung, Wesendonklieder and especially with Isoldes Liebestod.
A while ago she did with amazing success a solid memorial concert for her mentor Birgit Nilsson from her repertoire (Arias and Songs). Furthermore, she sang also Wagner and Verdi in Umeå Concert Hall with the Umeå Music Society Sinfoni Orchestra.
Eva is since spring 2012 a new member of the opera group EuStars.
She recently made a brilliant debut as Tosca.
End of 2012 she sang an acclaimed premiere of "O nata lux" composed and conducted by Jens Eriksson.
In 2013, she has done several concerts around, among other she sang a highly regarded Wagner & Verdi gala in Freiburg, together with ORSO - Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Wolfgang Roese, where she interpreted parts from Tristan and Isolde, Götterdämmerung, La Forza del Destino, Tannhäuser...
