Growing up Long Island, NY, greats from hip-hop's golden age like Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, and Marley Marl were the inspirations for the young DJ Episode.
Coming up through the world of college radio, he eventually landed a weekly program on KSMU, Springfield, MO, called The Bassment. It was there that his skills caught the ear of fellow DJ the CEO. Using their mutual love of DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince's He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper album as a jumping-off point, the two became fast friends and began working together. The two formed Late Night Promotions, a college/hip-hop radio promotion firm. CEO is also director for the Late Night Record Pool. ~ David Jeffries
