EP Island is a songwriting and recording project executed over intensive periods.
Wanting a break from the usual band grind, LL Schultz (vocals, guitar, recording engineer) and Melanie Covey (percussion) started EP Island as a side project that would exist only when they wanted it to, scheduled as one-weekend events, bringing in special guests with the goal of writing and recording as much as possible over 3 days. This non-band “band” offered an intense creative process that produced immediate results. Possibilities to explore and vary the EP Island sound have grown with the inclusion of special guest musicians in each subsequent outing.

EP Island’s fourth and latest EP, Electr’ish, features Jessie Robertson on bass (Low Spin, Dating Myself) and Sarah Sangster on guitar/vocals (Anthem Red, Sixty Stories). Electri’ish documents the first time the 4 musicians have ever played together, was written in 24 hours, recorded in 24 hours, and further mixed by LL. Unique sounds bridge the gap between 90s heavy rock and 2000s power pop, with distinctive bass lines, layers of melodic guitar and powerful vocals.

Electri’ish will be released on AUG 20, 2103. Previous releases include Sweet’ish, Rad’ish and Good’ish. All EPs have been released online, mostly for free, with donation requests only to cover hard costs like beer, mastering, and food for the studio cat, Menue.
