Emilia Lajunen's modern, powerful music is based onFinnish archaic and folk traditions. "She plays like a village full ofhaunted fiddlers", wrote the leading newspaper in Finland.

Lajunen plays 5-string violin and nyckelharpa andsings, intensively present on stage, connecting collective tradition andpersonal interpretation. Her solo music consists of Finnish polskas, archaicherding tunes, ancient kantele music and epic ballads.

Lajunen has twice won the Konsta Jylhä Competition, and experienced successin international competitions. Hersolo album Turquoise Bicyclewas realesed in 2012.
