After splitting her childhood between Japan and America, songwriter Emiko began turning heads in 2009 with her bilingual pop music and business savvy.
She founded the Asian-American Music Industry Association as a means of bridging the gap between Asia and the Western world in the music industry, and her work -- not to mention her songwriting, which drew upon American pop traditions -- helped secure the singer a featured spot at the first Japan Music Week in Tokyo. ~ Andrew Leahey
